Hair should be at least a weeks worth of growth before your waxing. 1/2 inch is recommended for best results. Since the hair grows in different stages ( anagen, catagen, telogen) it will take at least 3 wax treatments in order to get on a waxing pattern.
Waxing every 4 weeks is the general rule however face waxing could be every 2 weeks. Waxing is something that should be maintained all year long in order to achieve maximum results. Over time you will experience less hair growth, the hair will become finer, softer, and the hairs will come out more easily.
Best way to prevent ingrown hairs is proper post-wax care! Waxing removes the entire hair and the root from the follicle. Your skin naturally thickens over the area that was waxed creating dead dry skin. It is important to keep the area gently exfoliated and hydrated.
Shaving between waxing appointments is NOT recommended. Shaving will disrupt the hair growth cycle resulting in more hair at your next appointment, not to mention it will feel like your first wax all over again.
We use 3 types of wax products depending on preference and service. Most of our clients prefer Hard Wax over Strip or Sugar.
Sugaring is another method of hair removal that has been around since the beginning of time. Brazilian Wax Studio sugaring paste is natural, Vegan friendly, biodegradable sugaring paste. 100% water soluble. The paste is heated at a low temperature and can be applied with hands or spatula. Both sugaring and waxing remove hair from the root and will grow back thinner and softer over time.
Number one reason why people choose sugaring is that it's safer on sensitive skin types since the product is room temperature.
If you’re unsure which to try, try them both and decide for yourself!
